Brighouse Town will be confident of extending their seven-match winning streak at home to Staveley MW on Saturday.

Town are riding high in third place in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, while their visitors are struggling in lowly 19th.

Brighouse have also played fewer games than the clubs around them at the sharp end of the table as their recent progress has been relentless.

They are immediately below neighbouring rivals Thackley, who will need to be on their mettle to grind out another result. The second-placed Dennyboys travel to Derbyshire to take on Heanor Town, who will be smarting after losing out by the odd goal at Albion Sports on Wednesday.

That 3-2 victory lifted Albion to fifth and they would hope to consolidate that placing when they host Armthorpe Welfare at the weekend.

The Doncaster outfit are a lowly 18th and have garnered 21 points less than Albion, who have played two games fewer.

Liversedge are the only one of the clubs in the area not in the top half of the table but they could be on course for a win.

Sedge are under caretaker manager James Riorden after Eric Gilchrist’s resignation and there have been some positive signs ahead of their journey to Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Saturday’s hosts are second from bottom with just seven points from 21 starts.

Eccleshill United face a tough fixture in Division One as they head to Hall Road Rangers.

The Eagles were frustrated by a midweek postponement as their League Cup first-round home tie fell foul of the wet weather.

Lee Duxbury’s men are nicely placed in fifth, just four points off the summit and they would reach 40 points with a win.

That will be a big ask at Hall Road, who are ninth and traditionally enjoy a good home record.
