Farsley join this season’s FA Cup at the second hurdle in Saturday’s preliminary round home tie against league and roses rivals Lancaster City.

As Evo-Stik Division One North counterparts, the pair were exempt from the extra preliminary round so they can count themselves unfortunate to have drawn each other at this stage.

Neil Parsley’s men have home advantage but league form suggests it will be a closely-contested tie. Farsley are fourth after three wins and one defeat but, although the red rose outfit are below their hosts, they are unbeaten.

Throstle Nest will see two FA Cup games this weekend as tenants Albion Sports are at home to Northern League Division Two South Shields on Sunday.

Albion beat North Shields, who are sixth in the second tier, in the last round.

South Shields may be a lot lower in the table at 20th but they did win their replay at a strong Colne side to book their trip to the Nest.

Brighouse Town also face Northern League opposition but they must travel to take on Billingham Synthonia, who are in the top tier.

Town have only lost once in five starts this term and that was to Albion Sports, who have won all six of their fixtures.

Billingham have had an indifferent beginning to their campaign but are unbeaten at home.
