Bradford Park Avenue won their latest pre-season friendly tonight with a comfortable 3-1 victory at Tadcaster Albion.

John Deacey’s men broke the deadlock with a very good goal midway through the first half. A passing move started at the back led to Lee Elam and Danny Forrest combining before Ross Daly was played in and he sent the home keeper the wrong way from ten yards.

Daly and Forrest were involved again minutes later but it was Tom Corner’s header that converted Forest’s cross for Avenue’s second.

Both sides made changes in the second half but Richard Marshall made it 3-0, from an Elam assist, before Dan Barrett gave the home side some late cheer.

Guiseley were also 3-1 winners but they had to come from a goal down after Brighouse Town took a slender first half lead through Tom Matthews. James Burgess levelled, Adam Priestley put the Lions in front and Zac Dale netted their third.

To complete the set Farsley won by the same scoreline at Garforth Town, and they also had to battle back after going behind. Garforth broke the deadlock with a well worked finish but James Riley headed Farsley level from a corner.

A brace from Lee Ellington, the second from the penalty spot, saw the Villagers home.
