Eccleshill United have announced that former Bradford City midfielder Lee Duxbury will be their new head coach next season.

Duxbury joins the Eagles from Oldham Athletic and will be in charge of team affairs under director of football Mark Ellis.

Eccleshill’s football chairman Adrian Benson said: “Lee is a highly qualified and experienced coach and he comes to us after a successful spell with Oldham. I hope it is another excellent appointment for our club.

“With Ian Banks and Bobby Davison having both held the role before we have been spoilt but I’m confident Lee will continue the excellent standards that the others have set.”

Duxbury played for Huddersfield Town and Oldham as well as the Bantams before ending his career at Farsley Celtic, who were then managed by his former team-mate and close friend Lee Sinnott.

He left Throstle Nest to become head of youth development at his former club Oldham and moved up to be part of Paul Dickov’s staff with the first team.
