There has been an influx of players at Throstle Nest during the past few weeks and manager Neil Parsley is delighted that his targets have wanted to join the club.

The boss has tempted former striker Lee Ellington back and another two from the old Farsley Celtic days in Matty Young and Josh Grant.

Anthony Lloyd and Danny Hull have been training with the club and Rob O’Brien joins a number of ex-Park Avenue men now in the ranks.

Parsley said: “I’m very pleased to get Lee and Matty to come on board. Anthony trained with the players for the first time last Tuesday and Rob has committed to the club after ending last season on loan with us, so I’m pretty happy with the business we’ve done.

“There have been a few players going out, with Brice Tiani and Chris Walton leaving, and Craig Tonkinson is with us at the minute but he is looking for another club.”

Parsley is hoping the new captures send out a strong message to their Evo-Stik Division One North rivals.

The boss is also happy with his pre-season fixture list but there may be one more game to add.

“The squad certainly looks a lot stronger but it is a question of can they gel and if we can get the best out of them. Also we, as coaches, have to get the balance of the team right and the tactics.

“That’s what we work on in pre-season and these six games we have, starting against Leeds United tomorrow, should be a very good test for us.

“There could be another because we have been talking to Neil Aspin at FC Halifax Town. If that doesn’t come off we won’t be looking for someone else we will just go with what we have.”

After hosting Leeds tomorrow Farsley are at home to new tenants Albion Sports on Tuesday 16, travel to Thackley on Monday 22 and then Garforth Town the following Thursday, 25.

They also have two games in August when they host Conference North duo Bradford Park Avenue on Monday 5 and Guiseley on Saturday 10.
