Guiseley have confirmed two plum pre-season friendlies at Nethermoor.

They will face Capital One Cup finalists and npower League Two play-off winners Bradford City on Saturday, July 13 (3pm).

And four days later they have another derby – this time against Championship opponents Huddersfield Town (7.45pm).

Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick said: “No-one was more delighted with what Phil Parkinson achieved at Bradford City last season than I was.

“Their success is good for the whole area, and you could see when they come to us last pre-season that they were a well-organised team who all knew their roles.”

The Lions boss added: “Huddersfield Town are also a good side and also did us the honour of bringing a first-team squad to face us.

“We are expecting both clubs to bring plenty of fans, and these are massive games for us.

“We hope to have one more pre-season friendly at home against a Football League club and will have seven in all.”

It is expected that the other matches and dates will soon be confirmed.

Guiseley have also announced that their free Friday football sessions are back.

The sessions have proved very attractive in the past, with former Celtic midfielder Stuart Gray and Guiseley centre back Danny Ellis in charge. Both are involved as coaches with Guiseley’s Youth Academy.

Sessions are between 5pm and 6pm for children aged between seven and 11, and 6pm to 7pm for those aged 12 and over.
