Hunslet Warriors 42, Bradford Dudley Hill 34
Bradford Dudley Hill looked well set for another key National Conference victory when they galloped into a 16-0 lead at Division One promotion rivals Hunslet Warriors, only to see the powerful hosts hit back to claim a narrow win.
Hill started the game in great style as full back Nathan Kitson produced two pin-point kicks to set up tries for Ryan Dickinson and Elliot Cousins.
Kitson added the conversions before a further score from Joe Walker ensured the healthy lead.
But the Warriors showed what they are capable of to hit back for a 22-16 advantage, before Hill wingman Neil Wall put boot to ball to enable Kitson to pounce and leave the visitors just two points behind at 22-20.
Both sides threw caution to the wind and the tries came thick and fast, with Cameron Gibson and Ben Cousen finding the chalk for Hill and Kitson collecting his second which he also converted.
At 40-34 with time running out, Hill still had high hopes of at least forcing a draw, until a late Warriors penalty saw them claim the spoils in a pulsating finish.
