Guiseley play their last game of the regular season in front of their home crowd at Nethermoor on Saturday but it is far from the end of their campaign.

The Lions will be runners-up in Blue Square Bet North after the game, no matter what happens on the pitch.

However, they would be severely disappointed if they were not to win the match as their visitors are rock-bottom Hinckley Town.

Champions Chester FC have romped the league but Guiseley have been very much the best of the rest and they have a nine-point cushion in second place going into their final league game.

James Walshaw bagged a second-half brace in the midweek derby win at Harrogate Town as Guiseley looked to recapture their best form.

Following Tuesday’s win, Lions boss Steve Kittrick said: “Harrogate were the better team in the first half but we were the better in the second half. I said to Wally (Walshaw) afterwards that it was nice of him to turn up, and about time!

“We all know what a fantastic player he can be when he’s on top form. But Jacob Giles did as much as anyone in that game with some very good saves.

"You have to admire Jacob because he has been on the bench a lot but that’s what he is paid for – to stop the opposition scoring.”

The club has designated Saturday as Lions Share Day and they hope their efforts will make it a family occasion so that the efforts of the players can be recognised before their make-or-break play- off campaign and West Riding County Cup final.

Anyone wearing a Guiseley shirt, past or present, will be guaranteed free entry, while it will be half price for everyone else - £5 for adults, £3 concessions and £2 for juniors aged between 12 and 16.

There will be a lap of honour, and the junior sections of the club will also be involved.
