Bradford City's chance to close the gap on Northern Women's Combination League leaders Chorley fell victim to the rain-soaked grounds across the Pennines last week, and snow is threatening to scupper the return fixture at Thackley on Sunday.
With seven points between them, and three games in hand, these were opportunities for City to truly demonstrate their title potential but the delayed spring is doing them no favours.
It is much the same story elsewhere regarding the weather, but while City's A team did get last week's game on, they went down 3-2 to Doncaster Rovers Foundation in the North East Regional Women's League Southern Division.
Guiseley fared better in the Premier Division with a 4-1 win over lowly Lepton Highlanders, thanks to goals from Caroline Hulme (2), Amy Parker and Rachel White.
Bradford Park Avenue saw their hopes of avoiding relegation from the West Riding County Women's League Premier Division take another blow when they went down 8-4 at home to Wakefield Reserves, and the scheduled double-header for bottom club Avenue against second-from-bottom Ossett Town offers little hope of improving the situation in view of the snow.
