Farsley will be looking for a three-point maximum as they head to New Mills in the Evo-Stik Division One North on Saturday just a week after losing the reverse fixture.

Neil Parsley felt his men deserved a victory at Throstle Nest last Saturday but they ended empty-handed as New Mills kept their promotion push on track with a 2-1 win.

A few weeks ago the back-to-back games would have been seen as key contests between play-off rivals but a wretched run of results, compounded by bad luck and injuries, has left Farsley a long way behind.

The Derbyshire club are still outside the play-off zone themselves, despite last weekend’s 2-1 win at the Nest. But they do have as many as five games in hand on two of the five clubs above them.

For Farsley it will be a long end to the season as they have nine games remaining with nothing to play for after their midweek defeat in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

But Parsley will have his players pumped up as he looks to guide them back into the top half of the table. Farsley are currently 12th in the 22-strong division.
