Silsden will be looking forward to the visit of Runcorn Linnets in the North West Counties Premier Division on Saturday after their morale-boosting midweek success.
The struggling Cobbydalers put an end to a run of ten games without a victory with a 2-1 win at second-placed Maine Road on Monday. The Linnets are also riding high, in sixth spot, but are just off the pace for the promotion race.
Silsden spokesman Jim Rosser said: “It was a fabulous game and a wonderful result at Maine Road, our best performance of the season by far. We have won just two games in the last 16 and they have both been against Maine Road. We are trying to stay in the division and they are trying to win it – that’s football.
“Those three points should keep us up - they have certainly lifted spirits in and around the club. It’s Runcorn on Saturday though and they towelled us 6-1 in the league at their place.
"We will have to be careful because the last thing we need right now is a confidence-shattering defeat for our young squad.”
