Brighouse Town will be expecting to consolidate their place at the summit of the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division when they host struggling Lincoln Moorlands Railway on Saturday.

Town are top by just one point from Scarborough Athletic, and the Seadogs have one game in hand.

Third-placed Bridlington Town have dropped off the pace but cannot be written off as the pressure mounts on the three title contenders.

Town will be wary that their visitors may be fourth from bottom but they will be battling for points as they are not free of trouble by a long chalk.

Thackley have slipped out of the top eight - the qualification point for next season’s President’s Cup - but could climb back into it if they can earn a win at fifth-placed Tadcaster Albion.

Liversedge will be hard pressed to gain anything from their trip to Heanor Town, who, in their first season in the top flight, are 14 points better off than their visitors having played the same amount of games.

Sedge are the draw specialists, having been involved in the most stalemates in the division, and that is what has cost them so many points this term.

In the lower tier, Albion Sports re-ignited their Division One promotion quest with a home victory in midweek.

Albion travel to mid-table Clipstone Welfare on Saturday in fourth place with their sights set much higher as they have three games in hand on the leaders and have the best goal difference in the division.

Eccleshill United will expect to maintain their recent good run as they host basement outfit Selby Town.

The Eagles have taken 16 points from their last six games - the only game they failed to win in that sequence was a goalless draw at Grimsby Borough.

Selby will be like a wounded animal though because, despite their poor season, they are still only two points from safety so have an incentive.
