Bradford City remain unbeaten in their quest to regain their place in the FA Women's Premier League.

Following a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough, they moved into third place in the Northern Women's Combination League but face a potential banana skin when they go to mid-table Mossley Hill on Sunday for the second of five successive league games - that include visits to top two South Durham and Chorley.

The three-month absence from league football left them struggling to overcome in-form Boro but some solid defensive work from player-of-the-match Emma Dobson and Faye Boshell kept them in the game.

Substitute Mel Garside-Wight finally broke the deadlock when she cracked home a match-winning free-kick in the latter stages.

Huddersfield Town and Kirklees are aiming to keep alive the prospect of an all-Kirklees West Riding County Women's Cup final when they play their delayed quarter-final ties this weekend.

Town, also from the Northern Combination, are hoping to avoid a giant-killing when they go to Regional League Premier side Guiseley, while Kirklees, having fought well for a draw in their Regional League (Southern) game at Westella and Willerby, aim to bridge three divisions when they entertain Combination outfit Leeds City Vixens.

Jayne Smith and Ange Cooper were on target for Kirklees at Westella and, having come from behind, they were given some encouragement ahead of Sunday's game.

In the semi-finals, at County Headquarters, Woodlesford, Kirklees or Vixens will play Leeds United, while Town or Guiseley will meet Castleford White Rose.

The Bradford City A team go to neighbours Keighley Oaks, in the North East Regional Women's League (South), fresh from a welcome 2-1 win over well-placed Malet Lambert thanks to goals from skipper Kerry Playle and Lindsey Hopton.

Ossett Albion missed out due to the weather and are free again this week, but they will need to start picking up points soon if they are to move away from the bottom spot.

Rothwell go from strength to strength in this division, the 3-1 victory at Rovers Foundation making it nine wins from nine and lifting them to second with six games in hand and they are only six points off the top.

Harrogate Railway, 7-2 winners at Farsley, remain top of the West Riding County Women's League Premier Division, but bottom club Bradford Park Avenue, who lost 4-1 at Wortley in the League Shield, go to well-placed Brayton hoping to leapfrog Ossett Town, just one point ahead and without a gtame.

Division Two side Huddersfield Town Reserves are at home to Division One leaders Silsden in the League Cup, while Division Three basement club Cleckheaton Sporting are at home to Amaranth, still looking for their first win.

Dewsbury Rangers hope to continue their improved form in this division when they take on second-from-bottom Crossley.
