After seeing his side win just two home league games in the first half of the season, Liversedge manager Eric Gilchrist is determined to deliver results at Clayborn.

The club have secured six maximums on the road, and that has boosted their total enough to see them in mid-table in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

But the boss, who recently stated that finishing outside the top ten would be a big disappointment, is looking for more of the comforts of home.

“We have to address our poor home form so that we can kick on after Christmas and get ourselves up the table,” said Gilchrist.

“We identified it a few weeks ago and have done all sorts – tinkered with the system, altered the warm-up, shuffled the personnel - anything we could think of just to snap out of it.

"We changed the time we go out for the warm-up and the time we meet before a game.

“We even had a week when we altered the dress code and everyone had to come in Bermuda shorts and tee shirts - if they didn’t they got a fine.

"That was a few weeks ago though. I don’t think that would be a good idea in these temperatures.”

Gilchrist, who is being helped by assistant Sean Regan, feels that once his side get over their Clayborn wobble they will get a home run going to match their haul of points from some impressive away victories.

He said: “I’m sure it will click - it’s like a striker going five or six games without a goal and then getting one off his backside or knee. It will all drop into place because we are not a long way off.

“In a lot of our home games we have been the better side but just failed to grind out a win. We get beaten by the odd goal or let in a late equaliser and have to settle for a draw.

"It’s not as if we are getting badly beaten - not in the league that is. Halifax Town gave us a towelling in the County Cup but then you would expect a Conference North side to do that."
