The sensational penalty shoot-out win for Bradford City over Arsenal brought to mind a League Cup semi-final clash between the clubs' women counterparts at Guiseley a few years back when the Gunners emerged victorious.

But City's women are again on the cup trail and a 3-1 win over Stockport has set up a second-round visit to Nottingham Forest in the New Year.

It was their first game in four weeks but City shook off their rustiness to secure victory with goals from Chantelle O'Hara (2) and Bridie Hannon, while on Sunday they turn their attention to the West Riding County Cup with a quarter-final clash with Castleford White Rose at Rawdon Meadows.

Huddersfield Town, meanwhile, are at Leeds City Vixens for a delayed Women's FA Cup first-round game, while, in the remaining County Cup ties, Leeds United are at home to Wakefield, and in January, Kirklees will be at home to Vixens and Guiseley entertain Huddersfield.

Ironically, an eventual cup clash with Leeds United now remains a possibility for both the women and men of Bradford City this season.

In the North East Women's Regional League, Bradford City A go to leaders Doncaster Rovers Belles, a revitalised Keighley Oaks visit Wetherby for a relegation battle, bottom club Ossett Albion are at home to Westella and Willerby, and promotion hopefuls Rothwell, having played only FIVE games, once again bid to get back in action at home to Malet Lambert.

Keighley drew 3-3 with Millers in their last game.

Rebecca Granger, Lauren Adams and Beth Nixon were on target for Keighley, and in the other game played Kirklees drew 5-5 with Malet Lambert.

Former City duo Yasmin Ayub (2), and Sonya Smith-Moore, along with Chloe Roberts (2), were the Kirklees scorers.

Bradford Park Avenue are in West Riding County Women's League Premier Division action at bottom club Wakefield Reserves and are in good heart after their 5-2 Shield win at Crossley.

Sarah Huby (2), Shannon Doherty, Annie Roberts and Amy Jones were on target for Avenue.

In the Under-18 League, Avenue were 3-2 winners over Brighouse, who now face Bradford City in this week's game.
