Brighouse Town will hope to re-establish their tilt for promotion when they host struggling Nostell MW in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division on Saturday.

Town lost some ground last weekend when they were side-tracked by a third-round FA Vase tie and were frustrated by a postponement in midweek.

That means the third-placed club go into this Saturday four points behind Scarborough Athletic and trail leaders Bridlington Town by six.

Nostell are a lowly 19th, having amassed 31 points fewer than their hosts from the same amount of games, and they could be overtaken if they lose and Armthorpe Welfare win.

Liversedge will be doing everything to stop that happening as they journey to Armthorpe.

Sedge are 14th and, although their hosts are just six places lower, they have less than half of the points total Eric Gilchrist’s men have.

Armthorpe will be battling, however, as they are only three points off the foot and deep in a relegation battle.

They have also played one game more than basement outfit Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Thackley were denied a home game against Lincoln on Tuesday because of a frozen pitch at Dennyfield.

On Saturday, they are on the road as they head to Maltby Main.

The Dennyboys will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat, at home, in the FA Vase last Saturday.

Vince Brockie’s men are eighth and have games in hand on all of the clubs above them. Maltby are struggling and are not averaging a point per game.

Albion Sports are riding high in Division One and will expect to bank another three points to consolidate their second spot when they host rock-bottom Selby Town on Saturday.

The gap between Albion and leaders Athersley narrowed to four points last weekend, and they are three points better off than third-placed Cleethorpes Town with two games in hand on them.

It has been a nightmare campaign for Selby. They have only nine points from the first half of the season and find themselves nine points adrift at the foot of the table.

It has also been a disappointing season in terms of results for Eccleshill United, who face a clash with fellow strugglers Dinnington Town.

The Eagles have home advantage and it will be Bobby Davison’s bow in the dug out at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium after he was named head coach just over a week ago.

Davison says the squad, made up mainly of young players from Mark Ellis’ RIASA programme that produced Nahki Wells, is bursting with exceptional talent and the Eagles will soon see the benefits.
