Brighouse Town make the very short journey to neighbours Liversedge looking for the three points that could possibly see them as joint leaders of the Baris Northern Counties East Premier Division by Saturday teatime.

Town are in good form, reflected by their second place, but there is a gap between them and leaders Bridlington Town. The east coast outfit have a three point cushion, have played one game less and have a huge goal difference advantage.

Sedge are doing well following the second coming of manger Eric Gilchrist but they are just outside the top half of the table.

The home side will be buoyed by the fact that a win would take them past the 30 point watershed in a game that marks the mid-point of the season for both them and their local rivals.

Thackley are the third of the area’s representatives in the top tier and they could leap from 11th to seventh with victory over Armthorpe Welfare at Dennyfield. The Dennyboys also have games in hand on all but one of the clubs above them.

In Division One Albion Sports are keeping the pressure on leaders Athersley Recreation. Albion remained fourth following the 4-4 draw between the clubs last weekend but they have a game in hand.

Albion host Bottesford Town on Saturday who are ten places lower, however, even a victory would not take Kulwinder Sandhu’s men top but depending on other results they could finish the day in second place.

Eccleshill United will be hoping to make the most of playing one of the sides below them but they will be wary after last Saturday. The Eagles lost 2-1 at home to Yorkshire Amateur, who leapfrogged them in the table.

With Eccleshill currently 18th and Saturday's hosts Hallam two places lower another loss is not an option director of football, and current caretaker boss, Mark Ellis is allowing his squad to contemplate.

Silsden will have fingers crossed that they escape a third postponement on the trot on Saturday.

Playing their football in the North West Counties Premier Division the Cobbydalers’ fixtures have been hit hard because Lancashire and Cheshire, where most of their rivals are based, has been hit by the incessant rain more than this side of the Pennines.

However, it is a second home game on the bounce that is in doubt for Silsden, they are due to host AFC Blackpool on Saturday. If the pitch is playable it would be an opportunity for the Cobbydalers to make some headway.

They would overhaul their mid-table rivals with a home victory and they are in need of a boost following four defeats on the spin, two of those were cup losses but they both came against lower ranking opponents.
