A former president and captain of Northcliffe Golf Club in Shipley has scooped the ‘Golden Ball’ prize in a nationwide promotion.

Frank Brammah, 77, who plays regularly at the club off a 14 handicap and was president of the Bradford Union in 2005, found the one golden ball hidden in a threesleeve packet of Bridgestone balls that were being sold across 470 TGI Golf outlets.

His prize was a customised set of Bridgestone Golf clubs, a bag and a supply of the brand’s golf balls.

“I was shocked to get a golden ball instead of a white one and thought the head pro was pulling my leg when he told me about the prize, which I’m delighted to have won,” he said.

PGA professional Duncan Moore said: “He’s a legend at the club and there is no-one who deserves to win more than Frank.”
