Super subs John Selby and Jordan Missin scored in the last ten minutes as Buttershaw White Star turned round their Bradford Sunday Alliance League clash with title rivals Bolton Woods.

Andy Howland’s 25-yard strike midway through the second half had edged Woods in front as they threatened to inflict White Star’s first Premier Division defeat in 18 months.

But Selby’s close-range header and then Missin’s 15-yard shot turned a probable defeat into a 2-1 win as the defending champions moved six points clear of their shell-shocked opponents at the top of the table.

That was the only top-flight game of a curtailed league programme.

In Division 1B, goals from Dale Howard, Danny Backhouse and Jason Cornford proved to no avail for Lane Ends as they lost 5-3 at high-flying Prospect.

Bankfoot Lions won by the odd goal in three at home to George Hotel Reserves in Division 2A, with strikes by Nicholas Brooksbank and Ben Grech proving decisive.

Swaine Green eased to a convincing 5-1 victory over title rivals Bramley United to stretch their lead at the Division 2B summit.

Man of the match Elliott Holmes and Nathan Priestley scored twice apiece, with Mark Buckenham completing the tally.

The same section saw Buttershaw Rangers edge out Eccleshill 5-4 in an end-to-end thriller.

Eccleshill WMC turned round their recent run of poor form in Division 3A by rescuing a point with a late Matt Horseman goal in a 1-1 draw at home to Black Bull, whose goalkeeper had been in peak form.
