Savile Youth were the top scorers as they won 8-1 at lower-ranked Norfolk in the first round of the Spen Valley Cup.

Bulls Head Dewsbury were 6-1 home winners against Inter Batley 6-1 in another all-Division One tie. A Sam Pickles hat-trick was supported by Ryan Simmons, Adam Gibson and Danny Hobbat.

Another Division One square-up went the way of Ravensthorpe Bulls 5-1 at BD3 United Reserves. Faisal bagged the only reply to goals from Paul Beaumont (2), Liam Platt, Lee Ashton and Adam Nickols.

The only all-Premier match-up was won 4-2 by bottom side Girlington at home to fellow strugglers Ravensthorpe Rangers. Paul Andrews (2), Hasan Makin and Rehaan Butt outscored Fanni and Zazam.

There were also two second-round ties, with Marsh winning an all-Premier clash 4-1 at home to Vision. Goals from Steven Swift, Danny Stocks, Chris Blackburn and Mark Wigley dwarfed Lewis Playburn’s response.

An all-Division One tie saw bottom side Heckmondwike Sports spring a surprise to win 6-3 at Cleckheaton Sporting.

Matty Jubb scored all three Cleckheaton goals but Luke Barraclough went one better with four for the winners, backed up by Craig Sykes and Jake Hirst.

One league game ended 3-1 in favour of Soothill at leaders ALC in Division One, with the two sides now level on points. Raffa (2) and Andrew Barnes outscored Des Dixon.
