Top-tier rivals Liversedge also banked a point as they upset the odds to earn a 2-2 draw at seventh-placed Tadcaster Albion.

The home side took an early lead through Chris Kamara but Chris Hirst squared things just before the interval. Gibril Bojang then put Sedge in front but Daniel Gray equalised for Albion.

It was more manic than comfortable at Eccleshill United as they edged a 4-3 thriller at home to Shirebrook Town thanks to an Alex Rouse hat-trick.

Jake Vernon put the visitors in front but Rouse netted his first goal midway through the first half.

The game sprang to life on the hour mark when there were five goals inside a 17-minute spell.

Rouse put the Eagles in front for the first time but a penalty for handball saw Jason Bradley level from the spot, before Eccleshill moved 4-2 up with Rouse’s third and a Ricardo Cubillo strike. Bradley’s second wrapped up the scoring.
