SHIPLEY'S Low Ash Primary School have finished third in the Drax Cup finals at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground.
The Wrose school won a third and fourth-place play-off against Driffield Junior School, having been beaten by eventual runners-up Lingfield Primary from Middlesbrough 138-91 in the semi-finals.
Shawlands Primary, who edged past Driffield 150-149 in the last four, defeated Lingfield 179-136 in the final, the Barnsley school appropriately receiving the trophy from England women's fast bowler and Drax ambassador Katherine Brunt, who is also from Barnsley.
Driffield were third last year and runners-up in 2012.
The schools took to the pitch prior to Yorkshire Vikings v Durham Jets' NatWest T20 Blast contest.
Th Drax Cup is the biggest under-nines' cricket competition in the United Kingdom and is open to schools from across Yorkshire and Teesside.
