SIR - Well, well! Regular correspondent Simon Halliday has realised that it's easier to get a cheap laugh by attacking the messenger rather than debating the message. (T&A letters, June 20).
Personally, I wouldn't dream of calling anyone a brainless idiot. However, when contributors to this page make unfounded statements and criticisms and fail to engage with the reasonable arguments of other correspondents....
Perhaps Mr Halliday could explain why Brexit negotiations are going so well? Just 'going' would be something!
Why do May and other Brexiters now want to deprive Parliament of sovereignty having already handed it over to the 37 per cent who voted for Brexit?
As I wrote soon after the referendum result, most Tories and indeed socialists like Jeremy Corbin want sovereignty for themselves - not Parliament - in order to get their narrow policies through. Welcome to "democracy", UK style!
