SIR – With all the cuts recently announced by Bradford Council leader Susan Hinchcliffe, what is the position of the outstanding problems at junction of New Line and Harrogate Road, Greengates?
Promises have been made many times by more than one council leader but never anything done.
Yesterday, coming from Apperley Bridge an eight-wheeler lorry and trailer had great difficulty turning left towards Calverley direction round that very tight corner, in fact it had to carry out a dangerous reverse move to avoid hitting the traffic light post.
The left turn towards Thackley/Shipley opposite just as bad, only for me being an ex-driver right behind did I know to leave plenty of room for it.
The irony being that there is plenty of land for that corner to have been cut back to ease the radius of that turn for HGVs a year ago, why hasn’t this been done?
Typical Labour council, all talk and no action except to increase taxes and moan about the Government.
