SIR – In previous letters I’ve suggested a link-up of our two stations, to no end.
I recently received a brochure advertising classic rail journeys across the country.
One of these trips starts at Todmorden, calling at Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge, Brighouse, Wakefield, onwards to Shipley, then northwards along the Settle/Carlisle line then to Edinburgh.
If there was a through line in Bradford this train would miss out three of these stations (guess which ones) with a clear run through Bradford and Shipley. The route this train is taking is almost full circle, avoiding Bradford altogether, including Leeds, which surprises me.
If there was a through-link and Low Moor was up and running, I’d be able to board this train, a walking distance from my home. Instead I have to go to Brighouse or Shipley. This train cannot go into Bradford because it would be at the wrong end when leaving the platform.
I don’t have any more to say on this matter, only to add it’s a disgrace.
