SIR – Re D S Boyes’ letter referring to the West Lothian Question, Scottish MPs able to vote on English matters?
Back some years ago Margaret Thatcher imposed a rule one on Scotland, a reluctant Scotland, 12 months before anywhere else in England.
How did she get her vote through? Yes, with the votes from her English MPs. Very few Tories who stood north of Carlisle carried the votes she needed.
