SIR – Will there be any shops left on Broadway and Market Street once the Westfield shopping centre is complete?
Two closures in two weeks; farewell to Early Learning Centre and Acropolis Cafe, both city centre fixtures for many a year.
Who will be next? Thornton’s and HMV are both closing stores due to poor trading across their groups, so who’s betting (perhaps in one of the many city centre betting shops) that both Bradford branches will get the chop?
What is Bradford Council’s strategy to help stop the rot? City Park might be helping to attract extra people into the city centre, but they don’t seem to be spending and benefiting the businesses at the bottom end of the city.
