SIR – So, once again Lib Dem Ian Lyons (pictured) tries to justify his standing in the Baildon Parish Council by-election (T&A, September 24).
Despite the other candidates offering to withdraw and thereby avoid unnecessary expenditure of about £8,000, Mr Lyons refused to do so having “fought hard with his conscience”. Nothing like hard enough, many of us might add!
One wonders just what local taxpayers will make of the fact that Mr Lyons is happy for this large amount to be squandered in the current climate.
I’m afraid it has to be said that the more I see and hear of Mr Lyons, the more I am becoming convinced that he will do more harm than good if he represents Baildon at any politically-elected level.
