SIR – In his letter (T&A, September 11) Keith Rayner says something needs to be done to start Bradford’s regeneration.
Has he forgotten that the Council loaned the developers of the Southgate complex £6 million, enabling them to finish building a new Provident Finance HQ and the Jurys hotel?
Then they went on to create City Park , which after a few months has generated more than £1 million in new trade with one restaurant overlooking the mirror pool reporting a 40 per cent increase in business.
And now work has started on a new block of flats, offices and shops at the bottom end of Manchester Road.
For quite some time, regeneration has been the name of the game for Bradford Council, Mr Rayner.
