SIR – So at long last the city “planners” have had their way and the bulldozers have moved in to destroy what West Yorkshire Archaeology Advisory Service described as “of special historic and architectural interest because it represents a substantially complete and well-preserved urban landscape typical of the social, commercial and industrial elements of late 19th and early 20th century Bradford”.
Years of neglect have turned the Goitside from what should have been a protected heritage site, representing the best of Bradford's earliest municipal housing, into a ghetto for addicts and prostitutes.
This is not an isolated dereliction of duty on the part of the barbarians in City Hall and their successors in InCommunities after council housing was privatised.
Do I need to mention the Odeon?
