SIR – If it is true, as Councillor Cath Pinnock suggests (T&A, June 25), that Kirklees Council has underspent on its revenue budget for 2011/12 by £6 million, then I would welcome her suggestion that part of this money could be used on libraries, roads and jobs.
Where I live there is also a problem with over hanging trees and unkept foopaths. Perhaps the Council could take a look at this problem?
But my main point is that both Red House Museum and Oakwell Hall are having their opening hours reduced by two days a week from October 1 this year.
If there is money available why can’t some of it be found to keep these wonderful buildings seven days a week?
