SIR – I am amazed that MPs wish to re-name the tower on the east end of the Houses of Parliament when they don’t even know its name in the first place.
This is St Stephen’s Tower which houses the clock whose bell which strikes the hour is known as Big Ben.
Why on earth should any sane person wish to change St Stephen for Elizabeth?
