SIR – I wonder if other citizens of Bradford can detect a definite change in the air regarding the future of the Odeon?
Perhaps it is the impending local elections, perhaps it is the suggestion that the supposed agreement between the current owners of the Odeon (HCA) and the putative developers (Langtree Artisan) is not, after all, as watertight as we had all been led to believe.
Bradford Civic Society’s position has always been clear – the Odeon building should be preserved and put to new uses for the benefit of the people of Bradford and as a means of helping to regenerate the city centre.
It is good to see that many of those in positions of power and influence are now having a change of heart.
