SIR – I have just returned from Bradford city centre I haven’t been down since before Christmas, car parking is now £1.30 an hour. The car park was three-quarters empty, no-one shopping and that’s because half the shops have shut – mainly because of parking fees and lack of quality shops, and so the circle goes on.
As for the Council, even if they don’t own the car parks, I’m sure they could put a little pressure on the those that do.
Bring the prices down, then more people will use the car parks, more people will be shopping and may even prevent a few more from closing down. Simple!
Some people may ask why I haven’t been down before today. Answer above.
