SIR – I write in deep sadness regarding our beloved NHS. Our MP Philip Davies voted for this diabolical Bill to be passed and should hang his head in shame.

I, and no doubt many others, wrote continuously to ask him to vote against the Bill, only to receive his bog standard reply that he disagrees and supported the Bill.

I do not think he was reflecting the wishes of his constituency, do you? This Bill did not feature in neither the governing parties’ manifesto, nor the Coalition Agreement. Nay, “The NHS is safe in our hands,” declared Mr Cameron. Yeah, right.
