SIR – It is with great shame I note that Her Majesty’s Government (or so-called) managed to railroad their National Health Service Bill through.

This was done without any mention of this in their manifesto and a ‘listening exercise’ that was a joke. The so-called amendments are so minor they do nothing to alter the main goals. Finally, they saw fit not to release the results of the risk register to fellow members of both houses before the vote so all could vote with a fully-informed judgement. David Cameron promised during the election campaign that there would be no reorganisation of the NHS and that it would be safe in his hands.

How can the country trust someone who obviously is unable to keep and honour his words and is devious enough to ensure that the truth is hidden until it is too late? I also note, with utter disgust and shame, that the MP for Keighley, Kris Hopkins, voted with the Government at all times for this Bill, much to his discredit. No-one is opposed to change if it is done the right way and with all the facts in front of you, not just what certain individuals want you to hear because it suits their purpose.
