SIR – Re the T&A article (Friday, March 16) on pulling the Odeon down and the reference to Tim Martin and Watherspoons, our Council could take advice from them.

They take old buildings and renovate them and create good businesses. I’m sure the Windsor Baths would have gone if not for them. In most towns they have done the same.

I don’t advocate this for the Odeon, but half of what was spent on the City Park could have renovated it and we could have a hall for dance and music and get one over on Leeds.
