SIR – With reference to B Hardcastle’s letter (T&A, December 13), while I agree with one of the points raised, there are some false assumptions which must be rectified.
1.There a two sections to the Blue Badges; one part holds passport ID and the other holds the time clock. We disabled people are emphatically instructed not to show the photo when displaying the badge. Perhaps this is something to do with our safety?
2. If there is merely a clock on display then that arouses suspicion and it should be reported.
3.I have been a Blue Badge holder for 12 years or more. I have persistent or chronic pain due to an accident. To all intents and purposes I appear normal but I live 24/7 with a condition, neuropathic pain, for which there is no medication or cure. I have a dorsal column implant embedded under my flesh and a remote control to switch it on and off. I could not walk or sit without this machine. Sometimes I limp, I always walk slowly holding someone’s arm.
4.When I go out shopping with my daughter or husband I sometimes stay in the car, but equally go into shops with them. What is wrong with that arrangement.?
People should think more before making incorrect and misleading assumptions Linda Arnold, Beech Street, Bingley
