SIR – Why should traders in the Oastler Centre or John Street Market fear loss of trade with the Westfield Shopping Centre, as the previous shops in the Broadway area did not affect them adversely?
Leeds has gone from strength to strength with the opening of more and more shops and is destined to overtake Manchester for retail, making it the biggest shopping experience in Britain outside the capital, after Birmingham and Glasgow.
Bradford needs to do all possible to attract customers as an alternative shopping destination to those they at present visit.
