SIR – There was an article in the T&A (September 30) about ten “reed-like steel lighting columns” which are to illuminate the City Park, once it is eventually completed.
Accompanying the article was a photograph of one of the columns in situ, no doubt intended to give us all an idea of what they will all look like.
But, wait a minute. What was that splendid structure in the background that would provide such a wonderful backdrop to the new park? Oh yes, it was, of course, the Odeon Cinema building, confirming once again, if that was indeed necessary, that nothing could compare with that superb structure.
Our City councillors know full well that most people in Bradford would prefer that option, with nothing else able to hold a candle to a refurbished Odeon.
You have all been elected to act on the wishes of residents, so perhaps you could all come out from hiding and lend your support in this regard, please?
