SIR – Barra Mac Ruairi has finally conceded that, as he was told by observers two months ago, the City Park will not be open as scheduled this summer.
Instead it will hopefully be partially opened in cold and dank November.
More to the point, though, is what it will actually cost us. While it is still being referred to as the £24.4 million showpiece, delays, optimistic costing and unforeseen problems will probably escalate this to around £30 million.
So let’s have the whole story for a change.
