SIR – I have just read the most moving story from Julie Farmer, the daughter of Mrs West, who died in Bradford Royal Infirmary (T&A, July 22).
Have we come to this? You would not be able to keep a dog like this, you would be fined and the dog put down.
Most of our hospitals are good, but we do need to root out bad areas, usually elderly care. Can we not have Dignitas here? Surely it would be better to have that choice.
It is not for everyone but it would release pressure on hospitals. Please don’t let do-gooders win all the time. I personally would like this option.
The NHS is worth fighting for, do not let it go from cradle to grave. Stop giving money to other countries, give it to our hospitals.
