Sir – Only Bradford could come up with the idea of a souk in the city. While our city may be multi-racial, the proportion of Arabs in our community is relatively small.

While foreign markets are interesting when we travel abroad, they lose their novelty value if available to us permanently.

If we are going to cater for minority sections of our community, then we must also create a Chinese market, and an Indian, Pakistani, Thai, Polish, and another 86 markets. That way we bow to every minority in the city.

For any business to be successful, it must cater to the widest possible section of the public.

Let us be radical and build an English market. After all, they have been successful in every other town and city in the land for over a thousand years.

Simples!
