SIR – It seems that the message that a section of the A641 has had the speed limit reduced from 40mph to 30mph, in the interests of road safety, hasn’t reached, or is being ignored by, some motorists.
It is not really surprising, as that section of the A641, known as Manchester Road, has never been anything other than 30mph and seems to be regarded as a racetrack by some.
