SIR – I am sick to death of Europe interfering with the laws of this country.
We fought Germany in two world wars for freedom. Why do we continue to allow these overpaid bureaucrats to dictate to us? I understood, not that I voted for entry, you must understand, that when Edward Heath took us into Europe it was purely a trading agreement. Over the years the mouse has become a monster. Can anyone tell me the gain from our joining this jobs-for-the-boys club apart from a road running straight through the old Busby’s old site?
We appear to have lost far more than we have gained.
We are no longer a nation of shopkeepers, merely a nation of shelf fillers. Elaine Neale, Gordon Terrace, Idle
