SIR – Once again we see Muslim leaders in denial over the issue of self-imposed segregation by Muslims in Bradford and many urban areas around Britain (T&A, February 7).

Prime Minister David Cameron is accused of being ‘out of touch’ because he dared to criticise the failed, insidious doctrine of multiculturalism, which has encouraged ethnic minorities to live separate lives from mainstream society.

He said Muslims weren’t doing enough to integrate as many other ethnic minorities had, adding that extremism is more likely to flourish in segregated enclaves.

The denial was best summed up by Khadlim Hussein, president of Bradford Council for Mosques, who said Cameron’s speech would “boost the ranks and morale of right-wing fascist elements here in Britain and Europe”.

Significantly, Hussein said nothing about the right-wing fascist Islamist elements here in Britain who daily preach hatred of Western values advocating Sharia law, the shunning of non-Muslim infidels, the right of men to beat their wives and the killing of apostates and homosexuals.

These were the targets of David Cameron, not ordinary, peace-loving Muslims, and he made this perfectly clear in his speech.
