SIR – I sincerely hope that all the letters Bradford Council have sent out to all their employees regarding their at-risk jobs were sent via e-mail and not first class (or even second class) post.
If not – why not? I know that getting notification that your job is at risk is unpleasant, to say the least, but I do not think it would be made more so if the notification had come via e-mail.
Obviously not everybody has a computer, but even if two thirds of the Council staff could be notified this way, it’s still going to be some sort of cost saving (Hmm, saving costs? Not sure if the Council is au fait with this). Also, would a member of Bradford Council care to issue a list of how the (my) Leeds/Bradford Airport monies have so far been spent? No, didn’t think so.
