SIR – That was a nice little story about a row between MP Philip Davies and Councillor the Reverend Paul Flowers (T&A, November 22).

The Reverend suspects “Mr Davies is fast becoming a caricature of his obsession with political correctness”, and thinks “a period of self-imposed retrospection would be profoundly welcome”.

Come on, Reverend, tell us that was a misquote by the reporter – I nearly fell off my chair laughing. Just think how the public of Bradford see councillors as caricature figures of ridicule, wandering about in white space-suits entering the Odeon of Doom.

A period of self-imposed retrospection from the Labour Party would be good, as they were responsible for outrageous political correction that still angrily burns in this country today.

And lest the Reverend forgets, it’s the Labour Party who created the monster of multiculturalism, and the devastating affect it had on the lives of many decent people.

There is deep anger in this country just beneath the surface, so the Reverend should stop scratching.
