SIR – I was meeting friends for lunch at the Dalesway, Keighley, on Thursday, November 11.
When I arrived, it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale. As I got out of my car the wind caught me and I fell flat on my back.
I am disabled with arthritis, and although I wasn’t hurt, I wondered how I was going to get up. A slim, young girl appeared and said as she was looking out of a window, she saw me fall and rushed out to help.
She managed to heave me to my feet and insisted on staying with me up the flight of steps. I begged her to leave me, as she was getting soaked, but she refused and saw me into reception, when she then went behind the desk and disappeared through a door out the back.
I am writing this to point out we don’t always realise there are young people who show great kindness and care for people needing help.
