SIR – Last week I went to see Leeds Amateurs’ production of Beauty And The Beast at The Grand Theatre, where they played to near-capacity audiences each night, due in no small part I am sure, to the excellent advertising in Leeds City Centre.

I spoke to Bob Parker, from Bradford Council, regarding a banner across the top of Ivegate (or anywhere in the city centre), advertising the Bradford Catholic Players’ production of Beauty And The Beast at the Alhambra, which runs until Saturday (tickets half price for children at £9).

I was told that it was too near to Christmas when the lights would be put up, but I explained that Leeds Amateurs had a banner up and their show was only the week before ours.

It costs Bradford Catholic Players £82,000 to put on a show at the Alhambra, and we always give to local charities.

Just think how much more we could give if we had even larger audiences, because Bradford Council assisted us with advertising to a wide range of people.

Hopefully, the people of Bradford will support us – they usually do.
